Introducing FrankenKitty... formally known as Ivy

Ivy as a showgirl - compliments of Noley

Ten years ago this coming August, Linjit brought home the cutest little ball of puff. She was soooo small and so young that she fit in the palm of my hand. She was too small to eat on her own and required around the clock bottle feeding and uh potty stimulation (yes it was that intimate). The good news for little puff ball that I was on bed rest rest with the Yahoos and had all the time in the world to be her surrogate Momma Kitty. Well over the past ten years IVY has become a fixture in our house and thinks of herself as one of us. While she may look like a cat, in her mind she is just another one of the kids.
Two weeks ago she got very sick. I took her to the Vet and discovered that underneath all of that fur she had a nasty bite of some type. We drained her and thought we were done. Two days ago while picking her up to give her antibiotics, I discovered she has literally split at the seems. Her skin started to rot when the infection had pooled in her stomach and hind area. She looked like she escaped from the traveling "our bodies exposed" exhibit. She did not appear to be bothered by the fact that she had two massive areas on her body that was missing fur, skin and exposed straight on muscle.
I took her to the vet immediately. They said it was one of the worst cases they had seen and was not sure there would be enough skin to sew her back up.
Well, the folks as Bradshaw Vet Clinic in Elk Grove did a great job. IVY is the proud recipient of a new hiney with her butt life and abdominoplasty. While she looks like a five year old cat now....sans fur that is. She is still not out of the woods, but with some prayers and lots of drugs she will be okay.

Wow - just like with Violet(Babs), but way worse! Is she going to have to wear that shaping garment, to keep her tuck looking pretty?

Well - I'm a pet person - maybe not a 'cat guy' - but to each their own....all of that said....Ivy looks pretty cool (for a cat anyway!) ;) Hoping that Ivy recovers completely and quickly!

hugs - aus and co.

I am a huge cat person. My best friend was Quincy my cat for 13 years. He got me through college and he also got to enjoy some years with my husband and he even spent a few years with our son. I will say a prayer for your kitty. I know that they are not pets, but just furry children :)
