Day Trip to Angel Island

Last weekend we took a day trip to Angel Island to visit the immigration state park. As a native of the San Francisco area, I always knew about Angel Island but had never taken the ferry out to visit. I did not realize that while it did not process near the volume of immigrants that Ellis Island did, it did process about one million people during it's forty some odd years of operation and plays a huge part in the history of Asian immigrants who came to West. It was the holding place for those seeking to come to America. It was rather interesting and a worth while day trip. It is a quick short ferry ride over....just remember to go potty BEFORE you get on the boat :-) For more information go visit http://www.angelisland.org/ .
